Optimised custom RAG pipelines for analysing internal technical documents and competitor product documentation.

Challenge

Schneider Electric India needed to extract intelligence from two distinct document sets — their own internal corpus of product datasheets, installation manuals, compliance certificates, and engineering specs, plus a growing library of competitor documentation covering rival product lines, pricing strategies, and technical capabilities. Keyword search couldn't surface cross-document insights, and manually comparing specs across vendors was eating engineering hours.

Solution

2

internal docs + competitor analysis

Longlichi powers two optimised custom RAG pipelines built for Schneider's specific document structures:

Internal document analysis — ingests Schneider's own PDFs, scanned documents, datasheets, and engineering drawings. Engineers query the full corpus in natural language — asking for wiring diagrams, IP ratings, compliance requirements, or installation procedures — and get precise, cited answers instead of sifting through PDFs.

Competitor intelligence — a separate pipeline processes competitor product documentation, spec sheets, and technical literature. Product and strategy teams query across competitor catalogues to compare specifications, identify feature gaps, and spot market positioning shifts — all from a single interface.

Both pipelines are optimised for Schneider's document formats, with custom chunking strategies, domain-specific embeddings, and retrieval tuning tailored to electrical and industrial automation terminology.

Results

80

reduction in document lookup time

  • Engineers get precise, cited answers from internal documentation on-site via mobile
  • Product teams compare competitor specs against Schneider's offerings in minutes, not days
  • Compliance teams verify regulatory requirements across product lines in seconds
  • Strategy teams track competitor product evolution systematically instead of ad-hoc
